Every year, our Jazzercise group has a Resolution Party early in January. I joined the end of Feb 2003 when I first started Jenny Craig, so 2004 was my first year at the party. I was two weeks away from hitting my goal at that time. The party is held at a Mexican restaurant of all places... with a buffet! Well, I survived that first year and the years after that. This was my fourth party. This year I went as a Class Manager, so part of my job was to mingle.
I was SO proud of my food choices that night! We start with a small group in the cantina... a dozen or so of my closest friends. Hubby and I were the first to arrive. I ordered WATER. My best friend called and said she was on her way... asked if I had started drinking yet. I told her that I was waiting for her before I had my margarita. I had downed my first glass of water before she arrived. The salsa wasn't all that great, so chips weren't much of a temptation. The cadillac marg was PERFECT. Yummo! Just what I needed. That was my only drink of the evening... we were there for four hours.
The buffet was slow to get restocked, so I held up the line and waited for the fresh veggies to come out. Hmmm... Jazzer-girls... could we get plenty of veggies please!!! I had half a plate of super-yum marinated and grilled veggies, one teeny enchilada, one teeny chimichanga, one spoonful of rice, and one buffalo wing. That was it! All night! Came home and had my sugar free pudding and went to bed.
The party was great... 80 people total. Played games, gave away Jazzer-gifts, chatted the night away. Hubby is such a trooper and always goes with me. He secretly LOVES to listen to girl talk!
As for any actual resolutions... well, I don't generally make them. I do have goals though and I intend to accomplish them in 2007. I will hit the 300 Club mark in Jazzercise classes (was 258 in 2006). There's one other woman who I know will make it, but I generally have the highest attendance. Not that I'm the least bit competitive!! lol. I'm also going to work towards becoming a certified Jazzercise instructor. Not saying that I'll actually make it, but am going to work towards it. There are lots of things about that that scare me to pieces and I'm not entirely sure that I'm capable or that it's something I really want to do on a regular basis. But, pretty much the fact that it scares me is why I think I should do it. My instructors are THE BEST, so I would have all of the support in the world. If it weren't for them, I wouldn't still be here.
