My hubby was right (again!)... seeing my progress on a chart is definitely motivating. I always like to see an estimate line to keep things in perspective. When I was losing the first 80, I set my estimate at 2 lbs a week. I kept that general level for a few months, then it dropped to 1.5. I adjusted my estimates, extending out the time line. A few months later, it dropped to 1 lb. Again, I adjusted the estimate. It made me feel better to see that I was still on track, it was just what on track was that changed. I set my current estimate at 1 lb a week. I'm hoping to be able to maintain that, but will adjust again if necessary.
