Strength Training

I'm working on a promotional poster for our Jazzercise center on our strength training class called "Personal Touch". There's still some mystery about what we actually do, so pictures are worth a thousand words. There are more of the group of us using the various aparatus, but I always hesitate to post pictures of other people. I'll upload a small image of the final poster.

Regular Jazzercise classes incorporate about 15 minutes of strength work in each class, covering the entire range of body parts. It's a great way to get in some of the strength work that reaps so many rewards for the body. However, for those wanting to sculpt even further, the extra hour of total strength work is AWESOME! There are a handful of us that have been doing it continuously for three years now. The class is offered in 4 week sessions, but we just keep going and going and going!

Most of the moves are done with light weights. I use anywhere from 5 to 10 pounds, depending on the move. We usually do three sets of 10 reps each, and do about 15 different moves each week. We all bring in different things we see in magazines, tv, dvd's, wherever. Our instructor is my mentor and is great at bringing in all kinds of fun new moves in addition to our "tried and true" ones. We do total body at each session, however sometimes emphasize one over another.

In the three years since reaching my goal weight, I have gone down another size or two and have reduced my body fat considerably. I feel it most in my waist and mid-section, which is exactly where I needed it! Just remember, GOAL IS NOT THE END! Keep challenging yourself... you never know what you can do until you do it!
